Bibliographic Standardization Service (SNB)
Tasks and functions
It translates and adapts the international bibliographic standards. It maintains the authority lists of names and subjects of the library (LEMAC i LENOTI) and leads the Authority Catalog of Names and Titles of Catalonia (CANTIC), as well as the incorporation and training of new institutions which are planning to collaborate on it.
History
Section created the year 1995 by the Decree 300/1995 of structure of the Biblioteca de Catalunya. It makes among other the functions of the former Institut Català de Bibliografia, created in1981.
