Pseudonym of José Augusto Trinidad Martínez Ruiz (Monòver, Valencia 1873 - Madrid,1967). One of the Generation of '98, he was one of the most important theatrical and literary critics of his time. He was also a journalist, novelist and essayist. His style, known as descriptive impressionism, is characterised by the use of concise phrases, with which he never fails to find the perfect words. Examples include Don Juan (1922) and Doña Inés (1925) .
